Garbage

Garbage must be placed in the black wheeled bin identified with the municipal logo. No garbage can be placed beside the bin.

Each bin is numbered and registered to each designated property. Taking a bin that does not belong to you, breaking, modifying or deliberately damaging the bins are all infractions and are liable for fines.

The garbage bins can placed in their pick up point after 7 p.m. on the eve of collection day and before 7 a.m. on collection day.

Pick up schedule varies according to different sectors of the municipality: Horaire collecte d’ordure 16 Ko.

Before placing your garbage bin near the road, make sure it does not contain any of the following materials:

• Any recyclable material
• Tires, vehicle parts and pieces
• Dead animals
• Manure and mud of any kind
• Mortar, cement, bricks, stones
• Toxic material ( paint, aerosol sprays, detergents, batteries, etc.)
• Construction materials
• Contaminated soils
• Appliances
• Branches, seaweeds, leaves and grass
• Ashes

You can also rely on special pick ups done by the municipality to get rid of certain items.

You can get rid of leaves, seaweeds and grass at various times during the summer. You can check for the pick up dates in the Saint-Anicet Echo throughout the year.

Large item pick ups are made twice a year, in May and October. You can check the exact dates in the April and August editions of the Echo.

The Haut St-Laurent MRC organizes an annual household hazardous waste collection in the various municipalities. You can call 450-264-5411 to know the time and place of the collection for the current year. You will also receive the information in the Echo when the time comes.

Recycling

All items can be placed together in the bin, that is, they must not be tied or packaged, except for plastic bags which must be placed in one tied bag before being placed in the bin.

It's important that all materials in the bin be clean and dry.
